Documentaries

My journalism background aids my creation of documentary short films. Highlighting unique stories through movies is what draws me in most when it comes to documentary production. My latest film, Metamorphosis, won the Documentary Short category at the Progeny Film Festival in 2021.

During my 2020 Spring semester, I had the opportunity through my Cinema Lab to produced a documentary about a student in our department who is heavily involved with shows, a wig master, and a fabulous drag queen. I'm so thankful to Kevin for helping me complete this documentary virtually after COVID-19 sent us home mid-semester.
Last semester, I got to film and direct my first documentary short, The Seeds for Tomorrow. Climate Change is a conversation that is often ignored but being able to highlight the efforts made by people, especially college students, who want to see a change in their world made this such a worthwhile experience.
This summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Switzerland and Italy to study abroad and vacation. This is a little compilation of footage I shot throughout the trip! MUSIC: "Montage" by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell

Short Films

Virginia Tech offers an array of different production classes for Cinema majors. They encourage students to reach new goals within their filmmaking and to build on existing skills. I wrote the script for both films and collaborated with my peers during production.

Stuck in a rut, writer Jack Marsh gets an unusual helper whos sole job is to cure him of his writer's block. Could this be the answer to Jack's wishes or the ultimate disaster? This is my final film for my Fiction Cinema Production class in Fall 2019. MUSIC: De Wolfe Music "The Way Way Back" by Rob Simonsen

Newman Library

I worked for Newman Library at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University from 2017 to 2021. Over the years, I learned how to refine my editing to produce quick, informative videos that keep the interest of viewers. My manager also gave me creative liberty when it came to making content for our social media pages as well as more formal interview-style videos.
